How do I edit the sql database directly?

I am on a mac and want to edit the database directly rather than go thru the dialog boxes to enter product info. I have alot of products with various attributes to enter and it is painfully slow that way. Any suggestions?

That would be a mistake since there is more than one table to setup. The best way is to install the Easy Populate contribution. It allows you to setup all of your products in a spreadsheet file and then upload that.
