hedonism Posted April 21, 2006 Posted April 21, 2006 I have successfully installed XAMPP and switched to PHP version 4. I am not sure where to put the oscommerce zip file or catalog now. Do I need to create a new database with phpMyAdmin? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jon
Wendy James Posted April 21, 2006 Posted April 21, 2006 xampp should have put some sort of www folder on your hard drive. osCommerce would go in there. Yes, you have to create the database. Once you create the database, point your browser to your site and run the install. Usually http://localhost/install Wendy James Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. ♥Vger Posted April 21, 2006 Posted April 21, 2006 The folder that XAMPP uses is called htdocs, and it's usually in C:/apachefriends/xampp/ Drop the osCommerce 'catalog' folder into htdocs, and then type http://localhost/catalog into your browser and the install will start. As this is an offline server you should have full root access (if it is set up properly) so you shouldn't need to create a database before you start the install - but if you do then just go to http://localhost/phpmyadmin Vger
