wardazo Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 Let's say I have 1000 footballs in my store. Someone requests 2000, and oscommerce tells them that the request is too large either on the shopping cart page or the chechout page Is there a way to fill in the quantity box with the amount that is left, thus effectively taking the stock level to zero, thus preventing the customer from guessing. Also I suppose the customer must be appologised to as well. I'm sure someone must have written a mod for this but I've been looking for ages and have only found "only_this_many_available v1.1_1" in the contributions. It's close but it doesn't actually make the change automatically. Thanks in advance ward

Thanks in advance ward I've used "only this many available" on my shop and personally I think it's preferable - if the change was done automatically, it would not require an affirmative action from the customer. I was happier for the customer to be informed of the available quantity and then confirming that they are happing with the reduced quantity by making the change in the shopping cart themselves. Otherwise my worry might be that hasty shoppers don't realise that the quantity has changed. Terra PS: sorry - also to answer your question - I'm not aware of a contribution of this kind.
