Chance Posted April 21, 2006 Posted April 21, 2006 So you are seriously thinking about selling animation and graphics with that site? You are not even going to attempt to use your graphic skills to make it pretty? Good luck. My advice comes in two flavors- Pick the one that won't offend you. ddp Posted April 21, 2006 Posted April 21, 2006 Hello! I need your feedback. This is my new sore: GASPY Thank you! I like the typo "This is my new sore" very apt in this situation. When I saw this was an animation site I was expecting something that was really modified and would have some graphical panache. You might want to beef up you privacy statement. Your licensing statement is in a different font colour. Get rid of the stock icons. Get rid of the stock colours I like to see an address on a contact us page, a phone number is right. This let's customers know you are contactable and are real. Categories have no images in headings. Backup before making changes. Backup before making changes! Backup before making changes!! You did do a backup? eh?
chooch Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 As far the content of what your selling goes, it is good stuff and keep going with that - well done. As far as the osCommerce store is concerned, I can only say that it is stock. If you add a simple template (that you can buy from a search engine query) or play around with your own site testing out various css combinations etc.. I am sure you'll do well. I would advise you to add fixed widths in your store, use the catalg/stylesheet to more effect and change your pop-up images so that the pictures are bigger. If you need advice, post back here. Good Luck and well done! Upon receiving fixes and advice, too many people don't bother to post updates informing the forum of how it went. Until of course they need help again on other issues and they come running back! Why receive the information you require in good faith for free, only to then have the attitude to ignore the people who gave it to you? There's no harm in saying, 'Thanks, it worked'. On the contrary, it creates a better atmosphere. CHOOCH
