We have had our site for over a year with no problems, now when you click on a category you get the following error:

1054 - Unknown column 'p.products_id' in 'on clause'

 

select count(p.products_id) as total from products_description pd, products p left join manufacturers m on p.manufacturers_id = m.manufacturers_id, products_to_categories p2c left join specials s on p.products_id = s.products_id where p.products_status = '1' and p.products_id = p2c.products_id and pd.products_id = p2c.products_id and pd.language_id = '1' and p2c.categories_id = '80'

you can click on some items and the description appears but some you get the above message.

Someone else posted this query a few days ago, so something has changed. This part is incorrect:

 

products_to_categories p2c left join specials s on p.products_id = s.products_id

 

The whole query should read like this:

select count(p.products_id) as total from products_description pd, products p left join manufacturers m on p.manufacturers_id = m.manufacturers_id left join specials s on p.products_id = s.products_id, products_to_categories p2c where p.products_status = '1' and p.products_id = p2c.products_id and pd.products_id = p2c.products_id and pd.language_id = '1' and p2c.categories_id = '80'

I will wager that you (or the person that provides your web hosting) is using a company called Heart Internet.

 

Today, 3rd April they upgraded mySQL to version 5. This will cause compatibility issues with slightly older versions of OSC. (Prior to osCommerce 2.2 Milestone 2 Update 051112 I believe -Update Package 12th November 2005.)

 

 

You will need to change 3 pages on your site and alter the SQL tables slightly:

 

All of the fixes required are listed below under the MYSQL5 compatibility section (near bottom)

 

I had the same problem today - and guess what - YOUR CUSTOMER WILL EXPLODE WITH JOY WHEN THEIR SITE COLLAPSES! - Mine did! (Unfortunately, they survived the blast ;o)

Thanks for the help, i am new to all this code stuff, I asked my host as it was easy to set up oscommerce with them by clicking a few buttons, any-way he told me to change the following:

ALTER TABLE customers_basket MODIFY COLUMN final_price DECIMAL(15,4);

 

but i had to change the word catalog with shopping_frontend which is what my main page is.

 

My site now works fine but i cannot get into admin, i get the following:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: tep_get_languages() in /home/sites/townstech.co.uk/public_html/shopping_frontend/admin/index.php on line 58
