Gift Certificate & Mini osCommerce

Hi,

 

and hello to all contributors. First-time poster here :)

 

Would like to ask if you could help me with the following task:

 

we're trying to generate the following payment flow for a Beauty Spa redeemable gift certificate that

we cannot use the default PayPal gift certificate for as it is very generic and more tailored towards

in-store purchases.

 

Flow: 1. Clients goes to spa's website / 2. Clients chooses a pre-set gift certificate and clicks on 'Buy' / 3. Client fills out name/address/credit card information and submits it / 4. Upon authorization through PayPal (the Spa's creditcard processor) the client will receive an E-mail that includes the specific gift certificate details and a special authorization code that is also dispatched to the Spa owners E-mail account for in-store verification / 5. The client is re-directed to the home page (simple). / 6. The Spa owner receives the purchased (fixed, total of four different gift certificates) amount in her PayPal account.

 

All this within the current pagedesign.

 

Is this possible with osCommerce? And are there any coding examples available?

is there a comprehensive readme for this module?

install.html is very generic.

 

Also,

 

is there a walkthrough for coupling the checkout to PayPal?

I have a copy of the 2.2 milestone manual in front of me and comprehend, installation worked, but have not found a how-to-link-to-paypal-for-noobs yet.

Depends on how you want to connect to PayPal. If you want to send them to PayPal where they put in all of their details, use the PayPal IPN module. If you want to keep the customer on the site, you'll need to sign up for PayPal Pro and use the PayPal Pro module here.

 

And for the gift certificate, DON'T use the CCGV module that was linked above, use the new branch version being updated by Vger: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,4135

This will get me started.

 

It would be nice if there was an instructional DVD on BitTorrent or something so you have some kind of visual guideance, especially for the integration of creditcard processing ON the site.

Maybe something for the future.
