Problems with 2checkout and order process

I recently have installed the 2checkout payment module on my website as customers requested a different way to pay. Now that it is installed and setup I am having problems getting orders through. When I make an order, it goes to 2checkout and I enter all my credit card detail etc. THen I click finalize order and it returns me to the online store with a "There has been an error processing your credit card. Please try again." error. I have no idea what is causing this and why it would give it to me. As a result the order is not logged in the store even though I still get a receipt from 2checkout saying that payment was made.
