By that I mean they can logon to their account but can't get access to their account details. The quickest, and easiest way I can think of is to take away the My Account link, but how do I do that?

If you dont want users getting into their accounts, then set up a pay without account module and force people to use it; then they dont have an account to access int he first place. Still confused as to how this could be a good thing....but Im sure you know your own site best.

But about a week ago I looked into it and found something that said it could only by installed on a clean store. I have three contributions installed in my store, so it will take some thinking about before I start it. Why do I want to keep users out of their account? I have a store (not live yet) that only sells digital downloads and my only payment option is Paypal. I've been off work this week, and spent the last 8 days working on getting downloads to work. When I say 8 days I mean 16-17 hours every day! Tonight I finally got it working! With one flaw. If the users cancels the order at Paypal the download link still appears in their My Account. They don't get back to the checkout_success.php page, but if they hit the My Account link the download is there. I don't want customers to be able to cancel the payment and still get the download, and the quickest and easiest way is to stop them getting in their account. A better way would be to remove the order history from their account, but there are three of them. Overview, Previous Orders and My Orders. I really would like a Buy without an account addition as I believe people would use it. After all, who wants to enter the full address, etc. just for a download? So, if anyone can answer my original question, or point me to a Buy without an account contribution that can be installed into a store with three other contributions alreay installed I will be very gratefull.
Guest Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 The purchase without account option is BEST installed on a fresh site, but by no means does this preclude modified stores form including it. If you have spent that long working on the downloads, you must have a pretty good eye for code by now, and so long as you check what you are doing as you go along, then this should not be a problem. TAKE BACKUPS of any files before you modify them, so if it does go all wrong you have a fall back position, but suck it and see, you may be pleasantly surprised.
