Hi guys and gals

Can i first say what a refreshing site this is. Anyhow onto my issues.

My web hosting is with a company called Streamlinenet.co.uk who advised me of the following:

Our servers run PHP with the register_globals setting switched off, to enhance security. By default, OSCommerce requires that register_globals be switched on.

or follow the instructions below to modify OSCommerce to run with register_globals switched off.

Install OSCommerce with StreamlineNet Before following these steps, you should:

add shared SSL space to your hosting

install OSCommerce on both your standard web space and your shared SSL space.

Shared SSL space is hosted on Windows servers.

Step 1: Download the OSCommerce patch that allows it to run with register_globals switched off and follow the instructions to apply it your OSCommerce installation:

http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...register_global

Note: You should always thoroughly test third-party software before putting it live on your website.

Step 2: Edit includes\configure.php and add the following line to the end of the file:

define('WARN_CONFIG_WRITEABLE','false');

Step 3: OSCommerce does not properly secure its own administration interface when installed on Windows servers. A third-party patch will help you to improve the security of the admin directory:

Now i have downloaded the link above and all seems simple enough, except i cannot find the file 'register_globals' or the 'php.ini ' files !!

I also notice that when its stated replace 'password_forgotten.php'

catalog/includes/languages/english/

catalog/includes/languages/english/

catalog/includes/languages/english/

there is nothing to replace or have i got it wrong and its an insertion and not a replacement.

Can someone offer me some advise.

Thanks

Richard
