No local login to Admin, plus osCsid issue

Hello folks,

Brief background - I built my OsC site on a PC a couple of years ago and uploaded it to our webspace, all fine. I have since moved to a Mac and only just got my local version running on the new machine. I have two questions that I hope someone can help me with!

The local install seems to work just fine except that it's not displaying the pages when the URL is appended with the osCsid (I get a blank) - if I delete that off, the page loads just fine. How do I remedy that? I also can't add items to the cart, I get a blank page as before, but deleting the extranneous URL info doesn't do anything in this case.

Secondly, I'm unable to log in to Admin. I was actually not able to do this on the other PC install either. Is there some kind of trick I'm missing there? I just did all the updates for MS2 and need to be sure Admin is working properly before I lob it up live, as there were quite a few code changes for Admin.

Hope someone can shed some light! I'm sure these are elementary noob luser issues - sorry :)

Dunno about running osCommerce on Mac - try searching, there are many posts.

There is no admin login - you must set up directory access for the admin directory thru your hosting control panel after you upload your files to your server. If you cant access admin on your local installation you have probably not configured it correctly.

No admin login eh... it must have been a long time ago that I had a clean install lol, because I hardly remember there being no login, but you're right, it must be my admin levels contrib that's screwing with that.

Do you think the osCsid is related to the Mac platform?
