stryfedll Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 I would like to be able to filter products such as Zales.com does with jewelry. For instance, if a person goes to the category "rings", and I want them then to have the ability to filter those results by "Gold", "Silver", etc. Any ideas? There must be something out there for osCommerce that does this... THANK YOU! Shane
OceanRanch Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 You might want to consider just using the basic OSC category and sub_category features. Add the base product into the top-level category. Then copy/link (use the link option) the original product into which ever sub_categories you want. There is no limit to the number of "links" and any changes to the original product are reflected in all the other products in the other sub_categories. Just my 2 cents. There may be other contributions that would give you more features and capabilities.....try browsing those. HTH Tom
stryfedll Posted March 31, 2006 Author Posted March 31, 2006 Thats a great point. :) Do you know how I could open a certain include(php file) in the right column based on what category you pick? Basically, if you click rings then the right column would open up filter_rings.php which would display links to the sub catategories that would appear to filter the results (like Zales.com) I would have liked to have been able to activate multiple filters at a time...
