mtechama Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 I would like to know if Paypal will redirect the customers to checkout_success.php after payment has been made or do I need to modify that through paypal itself? HipBunnyHop Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 I would like to know if Paypal will redirect the customers to checkout_success.php after payment has been made or do I need to modify that through paypal itself? Looking for an answer for this question as well. Currently my shopping cart does not direct them to paypal. Thanks.
abra123cadabra Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 I'm not sure but I think I could specify this in my paypal account to which page the customer should be redirected after the payment was accepted. abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. mtechama Posted March 31, 2006 Author Posted March 31, 2006 if you have 2 seperate stores with 1 paypal accounts I think it wouble be wise to come up a your own page for order success page. Wade Morris Amarillo, Texas Before you do any changes on your site you need to do BACKUP! BACKUP!
abra123cadabra Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 That's tricky because depending on which store the customer came to paypal he must be redirected to the corresponding checkout_success.php. Especially if you use the normal Paypal module that came with osC. If the customer does not come back to your shop after paying through Paypal the order will not show up in your records and you will not be able to find out what the customer ordered. There are many threads in this forum. Search for "order" and "paypal" should give you enough to read. I would suggest to keep the shops completely separate, meaning two paypal accounts but then again you need two different CC as Paypal does not allow to use one card for two accounts. abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. abra123cadabra Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Can someone help me find this Contriubition? I did just that a couple of posts up in this thread. What else do you need? osC comes in a standard version with a lot of features pre-installed. If you need more features, then you can add contributions which you find here: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions Problems with a particular contribution (how to get it work, bugs, use etc.) can be discussed here: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showforum=7 Most of the contributions have their own support thread in this forum where the author/users of a specific contribution can help you to get everything installed and running. You are not new to this community and you should know that everybody is willing to help you fix your problems but you have to READ the answers you get. I spend time searching for answers for your problems and you just ask the same question about where to find a contribution again??? It took you only 30 min to install above contribution and to decide it's not working. I usually spend hours in cases like this searching the forums, reading books etc. etc. I am always willing to help others who stumble upon the same questions as me and I am happy if my tips help solve a problem! abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. abra123cadabra Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Well, I'm sure you'll find a contribution that suits you but you should start looking for it in the contribution section. I pointed you in the right direction. The rest is up to you. If you need help, then give the full information instead of revealing the real problem after the answers you got are not what you are looking for. This way you waste other peoples time, especially mine in this case. Just re-read the thread. It started with paypal redirection page and now we are looking for a shipping fee contribution because you want to use your paypal account with 2 different shops. abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. abra123cadabra Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 I understand you want to combine the two stores. You just didn't tell in the beginning which wasted time searching for redirection pages instead of searching for shipping fee contributions usable for one combined store. I can read and I can understand. You don't understand that you have to check in the contributions section. There are more solutions. I only pointed out one of them to you. abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. Feedback and suggestions on my shop welcome.
