I just got a authorize.net account and am setting it up. I have a question on the order status option which should one use? When they place it the order will ped but only untill approved so I do not understand the differances on the options give. Please help.

Also if I leave in test mode and do an order nothing will get charged to me or the cc card, right? Do I need a vaild trans key for the test also or just when I switch to production mode "live"?

Thanks

Set it to 'Pending'.

Use the test credit card number supplied to make test orders (4111111111111111 + expiry any date after today). You will need a valid transaction key to submit payments (test ones or otherwise) to the gateway.

Remember that your store is not the only thing in 'test' mode. Your new Authorize.net account is automatically set up in test mode as well. When you switch your store over from 'test' to 'production' you will also have to login to your Authorize.net control panel and do the same thing from there.
