keress Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 I'm trying to find a simple way to solve this problem. Some of the really heavy items in our store must be sent as freight and the customer will need to call or email the store so that this can be figured manually. I want the items to display, but I don't want the customer to be able to complete the order. I'm thinking there may be a way to use the existing features for inventory control to do this. Can't I set the item as a quantity of zero, then set the warning message as "Call for shipping charges?" I'm trying to do this, but it's not working. I know I've done this before on another store, but can't remember how I did it. I don't want to actually use the inventory feature so that it's counting down as items are purchased. I just want it to flag those items set at zero quantity. I've been fiddling around in the admin for awhile and can't get anywhere.
