Avec Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Can you see any pictures? Are only the thumbnails missing but the 'click to enlarge' image is there? If you know the images are there, then it could be the directory does not have the right permission or the configure.php is not right. For more help, post a URL.

Anywhere. In the edit products view you get the red X and under the box it says the name of the file. and in the preview. http://wallflowersnursery.com/catalog/index.php I've only added pic to these two items. Achillea millefolium "Yarrow" (Cerise Queen) Astilbe (Bella Mix) All others are still blank until I fix this. Thanks for the help, little new at OSCommerce.
Avec Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 If I try to go directly to the Astilbe image I get the following message The image ?http://wallflowersnursery.com/catalog/images/Astilbe2043.jpg? cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. Same for the Yarrow. I can pull up other images directly, such as the osCommerce.gif image. (http://wallflowersnursery.com/catalog/images/oscommerce.gif) Something is wrong with the images. Are they a different type of file but labeled .jpg?

Avec Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 I am at a loss. How are you getting the images and how are you sending them up to your site? Are you using FTP for either?
Mylu Posted March 31, 2006 Author Posted March 31, 2006 I am at a loss. How are you getting the images and how are you sending them up to your site? Are you using FTP for either? I'm using the upload app from webhost 4life. What's really happening is I'm moving the pics from one sub to the catalog\image folder. Maybe I should try a copy instead. So I'm guessing this issue is not common? I had a heck of a time with my last provider and store front loading the images there too. Those servers were unix. Very picky on file names ect. I do appreciate the help.

Here's what really is happening. i open my site remotely in ms fp 2003. i can dbl clk an image in perennials/pictures and view it ok. i copy that image to catalog/images and again i can dbl clk it and open the image ok. then in oscommerce i try to add the image to a product it acts like it is successful. you can see the file name under the browse field and in the edit product view. after i tell oscommerce to use the image i can no longer view the image in the catalog/image folder by dbl clicking your get the red x. os commerce seems to be corrupting the file. i can also take an existing image in catalog/image like arrow_down.gif (i copy it and rename to not mess up the existing file) and try to add that image to the product. i can no longer view that file through ms fp i get the red x.
Avec Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 os commerce seems to be corrupting the file Not all of them, the non-product related ones are OK. When you add an image to a product, and click 'preview' does it say file upload successful? i can no longer view that file through ms fp i get the red x. How are you using Front Page?

No it does not give me a message. But it does add the file name under the Red X box. Am I loading incorrectly? If I copy a non-product pic and try to load it, it does the same thing. The file is then set to 0 bytes. Yes, unfortunatly I am. Got a copy of dream weaver? you to give out? :) Thanks
Avec Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 It looks like you got the images working. What did you end up doing to fix it? No, I don't have Dreamweaver, sorry.
