I have gone through the configuration table again, I can't find any other rows that mention 'gv' which the others seemed to. I've looked in all the fields for all the rows that exist and I really can't work out what else to remove, this is what I have:

RC1 stands for Release Candidate 1 - and there could well be an RC2, 3,4 and 5. I won't be upgrading CCGV(trad) until it becomes a stable version.

Thanks. I do understand your point but RC1 is currently the only available download from the osCommerce website. Anyone new to the project in the last month is going to have major issues installing this great contribution.

It seems that the cid is dropped from the url on the preview page like so...

 

admin/coupon_admin.php?action=update&oldaction=new&cid=

 

The cid is used to assign the coupon_id in the coupon_description table so that is why it is zero. Sorry but still no fix as yet.

I couldn't agree more. Also the PDF download of the Knowledge Base for MS2 has been replaced with the Knowledge Base for MS3 (which hasn't been released and is years behind).

 

In the meantime you can download osCommerce 2.2 MS2 from sourceforge.net

 

I am not going to update CCGV(trad) for a development version of osCommerce. Only last week I downloaded and installed phpBB RC3 and it underwent major changes within days to become RC4.

Hi there all!

 

I'm hoping someone out there can help me as I have spent 3 days trying to figure this out, scouring both forums and googling.

 

I have managed to get the CCGV contrib working - mostly (thanks to those involved in this version as it cleaned up the mess I had with another ccgv install.)

 

The issue I now have is when I go to the checkout_payment page to pay for an order, when I try to use 'Tick to use Gift Voucher account balance' it tells me I haven't selected a payment method, however, when I select a payment method and then tick the box, it proceeds normally and deducts from the credit in my account.

 

It almost seems like the Gift Voucher needs to be a payment module (even though I know that others have this contrib working so it doesn't need to be!)

 

Any help would be much appreciated.

The latest version of CCGV (trad) doesn't have that problem - because I removed the 'Redeem' button on the Checkout Payment page.

 

The problem previously was that there were two 'forms' nested in that page and it wasn't possible to seperate them.

 

If you clicked the Redeem button before selecting a Payment method then you got that error - which you would get anyway if you tried to proceed without selecting a payment method. By removing the Redeem button then all you have to do now is to click 'Continue' and it works fine.

Thank you for this... it is exactly what I need!

One problem I have run into is after redeeming a credit voucher when I try to pay using it I dont see the "tick to use' box I am reading about in this forum. All I see in the 'Credits Available' box is Gift Vouchers/Discount Coupons and Enter Redeem Code (with the box and redeem button).

I dont think I missed code anywhere... have you seen this before?

With CCGV(trad), provided you added the My Account option during the install, then you can send the Gift Voucher to someone else from My Account.

 

There is no 'Redeem' button any longer in CCGV(trad) so either you are using an old version - or else you are using CCGV which I don't support here.

I thought I saw that the redeem button shouldnt be there so I just downloaded what I thought was the latest version again and checked the code and I still see it.

My bigger problem however is that I dont see any way to use the credit. I dont see a checkbox or the text to 'tick to use voucher' or whatever the verbiage is.

Did you enter GIFT as the start of the Model Number when you added it to your Catalog? If not then it won't be recognised as a Gift Voucher and just as another product with the name Gift Voucher.

 

e.g. GIFT_25, GIFT_50 etc.

you are a champ! I reloaded the two order_total module files and it worked like a charm. I thought I had the latest version, but I must have missed those module files when I was installing this version over the other version I had that wasn't working.

Sorry for all the posts but I really need help with this.

It seems as if the redeem button only shows up sometimes.

And in stepping through the credit_selection function code, in the while statement, I notice that $use_credit_amount contains the checkbox I am not able to see, but when I comment through the code, it seems that it is there the first loop then loses that value in the $output_string by the time the while loop ends.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be going on?

Firstly I just wanted to say GREAT CONTRIB and GREAT DOCO, keep up the good work, but then want to also ask... Has there been any progress on getting the contrib working with PayPal IPN v2.2? It's been a while since that contrib has been out but there still doesn't seem to be any info posted about getting the two contribs working together.

 

The only issue I've got is where to add the following line:

 

$order_total_modules->apply_credit();// CCGV

 

presumably this should go just before $parameters['num_cart_items'] = $item; but could you please clarify.

The contribution seems quite cool, i'm testing it on my develop server ight now, and got no problem at all since now.

 

But i feel that something is missing, and would be very cool to have some more features like this:

 

1) Is IMPERATIVE to know how much Discount and/or Gift are around: a list of customers with their Voucher Balance is necessary, and possibly a list of the gift not already redeemed

2) If i just need to generate a Gift Voucher without sending a mail, that's not possibile, and i've to send it to my account and tell the customers the code by voice, or print the email, after having reedemed the coupon and so on... that's too long, and a new menu for just generate coupon would be a nice shortcut.

 

beside this two little lacks (wich i'll gonna do myself if the Boss of this contrib would allow me) the contrib is a piece of cake!
