Is SSL important when...

Hi, im new to oscommerce, but before i start id like to ask a few questions.

 

1 - Is SSL (on my website) important when you decide you will only be accepting monay through paypal ?

 

2 - If i decide to not have SSL on my website, and use paypal to deal with the money, am i potentially putting myself into trouble and taking a "risk" ? Or am i fine and not to blame if something went wrong ?

 

3 - Before i install oscommerce (accidently deleted old one which i was mucking about with) is there anything i should know or consider doing to make the whole experience better or safer ?
