Install two osCommerce in a same database?

Can i install two osCommerce on a same database considering i rename the second one's tables as, for example, with the prefix "two_".

 

The second one became like two_address_book, two_address_format, two_banners etc etc etc

 

Can i do it?

If you are segmenting the database to the degree, why not use two databases? Are some of the tables going to be common, such as use the same product tables?

I'm thinking on alter the names of the tables for the second catalog. They'll be as two_address_book, etc.

 

This is because some hosts permit only few databases. If you want to have more catalogs than the number of databases you have to find an alternative.

Are your two stores going to be in the same domain? If you have two stores and two databases, then you have only as many stores as databases. Unless there is a store related need to combine the two, like both will have the same products, then don't do it. If it is a host restriction, find another host.

The stores will going to be in differents domains. The host offer 5 databases in their professional I plan. I think until i have more than five catalogs i can upgrade to another plan.

 

My intention was configure more than one because i wanted to make some tests in others. But i can do it locally.

Your best bet is Multi-Stores - available from Contributions. Multiple stores, one database, one admin.

i read there that it's for those who have never unpackage a tar file before. Does it means that i have not to upload at the same local i uploaded the others stores? What does it means, i became confused.

 

I saw that are a v1.8 by hobbzila, it's the upgrade version of the other one?
