Hi,

I would welcome feedback and comments on my first oscommerce site at:

www.caradiaz.com

This has taken many months to get up and running and has been trading for over a month now and is making sales but I want to make sure that I have not overlooked any obvious problems.

Areas that I am not sure about:

- I think the server may be a bit on the slow side - the site is running on the free webspace that comes with my broadband account. Does the site appear slow to you?

- I'm not sure if the front page with images randomly fading from one to another works on everyones browser.

- I probably still need to get SSL for the entry of personal details although the credit card details are entered on a secure Protx page.

Thanks to all for taking the time to look!

Really nice site. It doesn't seem slow on my end, but I'm on a T1 so I might not be the best judge. The fading images work great on Safari on the Mac.

I'd really like to know how you accomplish the trick with the "next and previous" items on the bottom page of your product pages, maybe consider making that a contribution... (hint hint)... :D

You have really sharp photos and your "click to enlarge" link... ACTUALLY DISPLAYS LARGER IMAGES (image that... ).

The type you've chosen for the header and footer navigation, while fitting perfectly with the look of your site, is a little hard to read on larger displays.

But all in all... a very nice store...

Thanks for that feedback - much appreciated. I'll experiment with other fonts to try and improve the readability but unfortunately white on black text will always be more difficult to read - we thought long and hard before using it here but it seems to be fairly standard in 'upmarket' fashion sites. You will note that I reverted to black on white for the 'about us' and 'T&C' pages which would have been near impossible to read in white on black.

The thumbnail images at the bottom of the product page with "next and previous" buttons is actually a standard contribution at http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,2857

Anybody else got any comments, good or bad?

That's enough of the smutty comments now! She is my wife's niece from Valencia, Spain currently at Univeristy there and has never modeled before. But yes she is attractive - last time she came to London to see us, people were literally stopping in the street to look at her.

Hey, I found a couple of problems! When you switch to US Dollars (and Euro's I guess), the shipping rates are still displayed in pounds.

And, the Continue Shopping button really acts as a back button. If you go to the about us page and then to the delivery page, it goes back to the about us page. Etc., I think.

It is a great site. Very simple and clean, great photography and great functionality. I generally don't like white on black, but here it actually is very effective. And, the glaring art of selling the wrong thing (at least to me), like making it seem like you sell free shipping or that everything is the lowest price on the planet, is missing. Your site is one of the nicer osCommerce sites that I have seen. And, what you are selling fits it very well.

Although, I would never wear the jewelery.

Oh, and clicking on protx secured takes you out of your site and to their site.
