Need an SSL cert

Hello,

I know that there are tons out there, and at VERY different prices, but can any of you please send some suggestions on where I can economically purchase a reputible SSL cert.

And...are we able to put the SSL seal (even if uses Java) on our pages?

Tks,

Tom

I get ssl certificates from Pair - who are a sponsor of osC.

They are pretty cheap and I haven't had any problems at all.

There is also a seal that you can use on your website.

Tks Jon, I will check them out. Are we able to put that seal on our osC pages?

You can put it anywhere you want!

I don't use it though.

This is partly due to me not being convinced they do any good (and may actually be bad).

But also due to me having problems getting it working properly. This wasn't a major problem and I could of sorted it out pretty quickly if I wanted. If I remember correctly there was different code to display it on non-ssl vs ssl pages and I couldn't be bothered with it.

I think there is a global variable set by osC that says whether the page is non-ssl or ssl which you can use to call the relevant code.

Though I guess this would be the same with most seals.

Jon.
