I'm Completely Clueless About Shipping! Some Help!

I'm new to the online store world and even more with OsCommerce.

I have just set up an OsCommerce Online Store and my problem is that I sell products of all different shapes and sizes that come from different parts of the world.

I have NO IDEA! how to effectively implement shipping for these items.

I have any account with UPS that I use for my business and I would like to continue that with my Online Store the problem is that I can only specify one despatch location and it only works out the shipping rates based on the Total Product weight I input when I upload the products.

This is not accurate enough and will probably cost me cost me a fortune and loose me business! :s

How does everyone else work out their shipping?

Is there a way I can specify different dispatch locations for different products? and is there a way I can also specify the shipping dimension along with the weight when I upload my products?

I'm completely lost and up that well known creek without a paddle or a spoon, so any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

What I did is I weight every item which is a lot of work I know, and set up an account with usps.com for the webtools I believe its what's called - and you get a user ID and incorporate that with your shipping in your Admin. You can also put in Zones its all real simple you just go to Admin>Modules>shipping and you need to install the option that you want. Hope that helped if not you can contact me if you'd like ;)

Thanks for the help,

I had already considered doing the size to weight calculation to get an accurate total weight for shipping "but this is a lot of work"

But I will still have the issue of not being able to specify different dispatch locations, some of my products come from American some directly from Europe and this will make a large difference in shipping costs.

Any Ideas?

Chris.
