spax Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 You have probably just moved it. Go into shop.backup and see if it is there. Or try pressing Ctrl Z, see if it will undo.

warrenerjm Posted March 26, 2006 Author Posted March 26, 2006 1046 - No Database Selected select configuration_key as cfgKey, configuration_value as cfgValue from configuration [TEP STOP] The shop I downloaded had an extra shop folder in it so I deleted that & uploaded. Now when I try to access admin I get the message above. shop folder now shows in the first page of the FTP Anyone?
warrenerjm Posted March 26, 2006 Author Posted March 26, 2006 Julie, Is the one you deleted in the Recycle Bin? Yes
warrenerjm Posted March 26, 2006 Author Posted March 26, 2006 Highlight it and press restore. OK Done that
spax Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 I may have misunderstood here, but I assumed you deleted the wrong folder in the first place. If that is the case, now you have it back again, you can upload it to your server.

I need to get that folder back to it's original place & I don't know how. I am feeling really sick now, & would really be greatful if someone could talk this through with me please Thanks Julie
warrenerjm Posted March 26, 2006 Author Posted March 26, 2006 ?? Why would your backup files have different names? Sorry Richard missed your post. I am in such a state about this now. I think it downloaded as shop backup/shop/... How do I copy the whole shop folder a was & upload to the original place please?? Julie
spax Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 If it is now on your PC, just FTP it to your server. If it is still on your server, but in the wrong location, either: Right click on it, select copy, move up a directory to your root level, right click and select paste. Or, download it to your PC and upload it again to your root directory.
warrenerjm Posted March 26, 2006 Author Posted March 26, 2006 ?? Why would your backup files have different names? If I download the shop that is now in the shop backup folder, it has the file names "/shop.backup/shop/admin...." etc How can I up load this to the original place as only "shop/admin..."etc? Please. Thanks you Julie

warrenerjm Posted March 26, 2006 Author Posted March 26, 2006 Just grab the 'shop' that is in 'shop.backup' Are you saying just upload the folder that says shop within the shop backup folder that I downloaded?? Julie
warrenerjm Posted March 26, 2006 Author Posted March 26, 2006 Just grab the 'shop' that is in 'shop.backup' Nothing seems to be working. How do I grab & presumably move up a level the shop folder that is in my shop.backup folder please? This is the only one that has all the dates correct for the files within it. If I try & download the shop folder that is in the shop.backup folder it downloads as shop.backup/shop/ :(
Wendy James Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Download the shop.backup to your computer. If you no longer have a shop folder in your ftp space just drag and drop the SHOP folder to your ftp space or right click and copy and paste it there. If you already have a SHOP folder but no files inside of it. Open the shop.backup folder, then open your shop folder. highlight all of the files inside your SHOP folder and transfer them up into your shop folder in your ftp space. spax Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 You downloaded the whole lot but then deleted the shop folder, that was the original folder the problems started with. Yes? Then you restored it, from the recycle bin, back to the place on your PC where you had deleted it from. If that is true and in case there is a setting on your FTP client that will download all folders, which maybe why you are uploading the backup folder; Right click on the now restored shop folder, select cut, get out of the backup folder, right click and copy to wherever you are now. Now you should have the shop folder on it's own. Connect by FTP and upload that shop folder to your document root on the server. Alternatively; While connected by your FTP client, right click on the shop folder that is in the shop.backup folder, see if there is a 'Copy' option. If not look at the tool bar at the top of your FTP client, you will have Edit or Commands, whatever is there, look for a Copy option within. When you find the option, highlight the shop folder, Copy, come out of the shop.backup directory, into your root, right click or Commands Paste into the root.

YES YES YES YES YES   That did it. Thank you sooooooooooooooooo much. I have spent 3 months learning, reading, & amending my site, & this is the first time I have ended up in tears! I was only trying to backup as is always mentioned. Am I backing up wrong or was I just unlucky & inexperienced in what to do if I made an error? That's it now. I need a drink! Thank you all & especially wendyjames for helping me. Very very grateful. Julie :D
