This is my first attempt with osCommerce, for the last months I've been putting together a store for a good friend of mine who draws a lot and would like to be able to sell prints of her drawings.

The store can be found at http://zindy.zone.dk/shop/

I know there is currently no SSL support, but that is on the way as soon as I get the whois info for the domain changed.

Besides from that issue I'm looking for comments on everything, so don't hold back :)

Since there is only one category (and that is all that is visible when you go to the store), maybe you should incorporate it into the sub-categories, Prints: fantacy, Prints: ink drawings, etc. - so that they become the categories. You would then see everything without needing to click on Prints. And, I don't know that you need to repeat the category heads in the center section since it's such a basic group.

Unless you are planning to add other artists to the site, you probably don't need the Manufacturer's pull-down. And if you keep it, you should probably relabel it to Artists or something. Same with the Quick Search and Advanced Search. I don't know that they are necessary. I added weather to my site because it seemed like it needed something else (haven't gotten any sales from having the weather on it, either, but it looks nice).

If you copy the Paypal blurb that shows up when you click the Paypal link, and paste it into a Paypal info page, then you will be keeping people on the site, rather than opening up a Paypal page.

If you add a purchase without account contribution it would make it easier for people to buy the prints.

Seems like a very nice site, very clean, and does what you seem to be trying to accomplish. And, the art is very well done, too.

Thanks Tony, that is some great info. I really appreciate the comments.

I would never have thought of those things alone, after working on it for so long, I think I've stared myself blind and just accepted that it should be like this (for example with the categories), but your idea sounds much better. I'll get fixing asap.

Thanks.

Think I got it all changed now, except the purchace without account - there seem to be a few of them, is there one specific that is preferred?
