Guest Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 I think I am going to start my store over, give it a new layout, add some more contributions and make the checkout process a little smoother flowing. I have over 1200 clients and 1800 orders. Will these get deleted? Will my product get deleted? I am hoping I can use the database still. Also which contributions would you add? I can't use paypal because they don't like knives, so that is a little less work right there. Header tags I know I need I need the 2Checkout mod but I am really starting to think 2checkout really isnt that great since I have to go off site. I will need an SSL connection, any advice? Just throuh stuff my way, I will see what I can do :)
Avec Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 You can create a new store using the existing database, so you will not lose any of the information. I would recommend creating a development directory and start over in there while keeping the existing store running. If your new store will use the same domain as the existing one, get the SSL cert now and it will be good for the new one as well. For your other questions, everything is subjective. Find the contributions you like and try them out. For checking out, try Fast Easy Checkout for streamlining and Purchase Without Account. Checkout this thread for more suggestions. sallyvigar Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Hi - just a thought - I am just setting up my shop and the research that I have done on payments - I have got a fantastic deal with Natwest Streamline (you can really beat them down on prices and I got the set up for fee - from initial ?150 plus quotes) and then I am planning to use ProTX Direct for my gateway - this stays on site and I have had great reviews about it.... Havent tried installing it yet - but have a look yourself and see what you think !
