warrenerjm Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 Hi everyone I have just read 200+ post on the support forum on installing APC NoChex. Great, but I have now been told by my hosting company that quote: cURL is inherently very insecure and it could potentially compromise the security of the network and our customers accounts, and as such it is not permitted on our servers at the present time. Unfortunatly, you can use the standard Nochex module that is included in OsCommerce but this would not be possible due to the nature of cURL and our being unable to allow this. If I am left with the basic NoChex set up. What does that mean to my business, & even better how can I get around this problem? My host "Supanames" is good in every other respect, so I do not want to change. Apart from the fact it has taken me ages to build my site, I don't have any money to pay for another host package. All help & suggestions gratefully recieved. Thanks Julie
warrenerjm Posted March 25, 2006 Author Posted March 25, 2006 Hi Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do next? Thanks Julie
warrenerjm Posted March 25, 2006 Author Posted March 25, 2006 Hi Can anyone tell me what I should do next please? I've read & read, but still no clearer. What is cURL & why does my host say it is unstable? Is the basic NoChex module OK & what problems will I encounter? Any help trying to understand this would be appreciated. Thanks Julie
