Adding events to successful checkout

Up front, thanks for everyone's participation and help here. While searching for posts concerning this topic I once again proved just how ignorant I am (answered about 20 ?'s I didn't even l know I had). :blink:

Hope to be able to help out myself soon...(yes I can be delusional why do you ask?) I could have answered some of the posts already, HONEST, B)

 

I'm selling software and need to do a whole bunch of things, the most critical at the moment is having to generate a license file (have my own license generator with API) and attach it to the order confirmation email. Any ideas where I might sneak into the order process and accomplish this?

 

I of course have to ask for additional information in the check out process (cpu/mac id/address) and because it is really b2b type stuff, credit card identification AND company identification information. That will be the next ? IF I can't sleuth it out myself. The Admin/Config feature does indicate a 2 identification information option exists (bill to/ship to) so I am hopeful.

 

BTW The products will be download only with a backup CD option.

So no one knows or can figure it out? I want run an application internal to OSCommerce that generates a license for the software the Customer is buying. I think that would be somewhere towards the end of the order process. Where I have not found a good place, likely candidates but no eureka as of yet.

 

I thought that someone would be doing this sort of thing with OSCommerce.
