Guest Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Hi, I am opening a store, as part of my existing website, selling downloadable products. I am based in the UK, with the majority of my existing customer base being abroad. Does anyone have any recomendations for an automated payment gateway? I am not selling high ticket items, however i am still concerned about chargebacks. If i have customer in the US (or abroad) make a genuine purchase and then download the products, what is stopping them claiming the transaction was fraudulent, then in turn the credit card company issuing a chargeback? I have spoken to Barclays, who advise me apart from making sure the gateway includes 'Verfied by Visa' and the Mastercard equivelent, there isnt much i can do for CNP transactions and there is no way that EMV level 1 (requiring a pin number) will be introduced as its a security risk.... It seems the 'Verified by Visa' option is the closest to this, as im informed a password is required from the cardholder during transaction.. Anyone have any sggestions on a) a suitable payment gateway B) ways to combat the potential chargeback issue? c) any other points i should consider. Thanks Darren Quote
