Simple questions regarding OS Commerce

Hi guys,

 

I have been comissioned to create a website for a guy making hand made, precious jewelery and he wishs to sale the aforementioned desirables on the internet. After browsing various solutions I have a few questions that I was hoping the more experienced user could help me with....

 

Firstly; does the instalation of OSC contain all the nessecary code to generate a login page for new customers?

 

Secondly; on initial instalation the user is requested to point OSC to a database.....Is this just a blank database with no fields so OSC can populate it as it is configured?

 

Is there any documentation stating how OSC is configured to use pay pal?

 

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
