i got PBreit's wpp correctly working with paypal's sandbox but it doesn't work live. i also read in dynamoeffects' readme that paypal wpp has a 60% acceptance rate for CC transactions! how is this possible? can someone please tell me if this is at all a viable solution or if i should start paying some kind of gateway service to process the transactions? please be blunt. if anyone has wpp working i want to hear about it and if they have other solutions i want to hear about that too. i just want a serviceable cc processing solution and at this point i'm willing to pay extra for it.

thanks,

It's definitely a mickey mouse processor. I read a blog a while back where someone researched the actual cost savings involved and his suggestion was that if you expect to make more than $900/month on your store, a traditional merchant account is actually cheaper.

The upside is that it simplifies the whole credit card acceptance process by merging two parts into one and charging a low monthly rate. It's also supposedly easier to get for people with less than stellar credit.

By the way, that 60% was what was reported to me, and that was before SteveDallas' internationalization fix. I'm sure it's improved somewhat.

(Just a note: I don't actually use the module myself -- I use Netbilling.)
