aheisey Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Is there a contribution that will let me offer discounts to people who enter a code number? Let's say that I want to offer a discount to a certain group of people. When then enter a special code, they get a 10% discount automatically. I also want the code to expire after a certain # of days. Quote
Guest Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 no expiry date (out of the box) but i'm sure it's something that could be easily implimented: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...h,easy+discount Quote
aheisey Posted March 23, 2006 Author Posted March 23, 2006 That was fast! Awesome, thanks - will check it out. Quote
aheisey Posted March 23, 2006 Author Posted March 23, 2006 I checked the contrib. It bases the discount on the number of items you've ordered or on a model/product number. Anyone know of another contirb? Quote
Guest Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 search the support topic for some of my posts, i use it for 10% off using coupon codes Quote
aheisey Posted March 24, 2006 Author Posted March 24, 2006 (edited) When I try to do an advanced search on your name, I'm bounced back to he main contrib support page. Must be a Mac thing. Well, I guess I'll have to wade through all 14 pages since no one seems to have the codes in a text file or anything as well as figure out which files need to have the code changes. Oh, this'll be fun. Edited March 24, 2006 by aheisey Quote
Guest Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 try from the last page and go up. i only first hopped in that topic a few weeks ago Quote
bobsi18 Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 Have you considered CCGV? Credit Card and Gift Voucher (http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,282) can be used to set certain discount coupons, offering a % off, or free shipping etc. You can set it to expire at a certain time, and set it so it allows unlimited or limited use per person etc. Good Luck! ~Barbara~ Quote

What we are looking for is something that we can assign codes to people to refer new customers, and each referrer would have their own code that they can give to friends etc to redeem at the store for a discount. We can then manually keep track of who is referring customers to us. Quote

You can limit it to a certain time frame (eg set an expiry date) and limit how many times it can be used (once, xx or unlimited). You can set the name and have a number running at once eg xa53 - customer gets 5% off at checkout, valid till 4/4/06 g3ya - customer gets 10% off a purchase over $50, once only, valid till 1/6/06 etc. etc. The codes have to be entered at checkout to apply. I'm pretty sure you can track how many and what vouchers have been used, I have to point out here that I've only used this on my test site, I'm not quite to the stage of publishing my site, but that's the way I see it. Good Luck, ~Barbara~ Quote
