Guest Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 I guess I have missed something... When I visit the admin at .../catalog/admin/ I do not need to enter login details, meaning everybody could look into my Admin. Where can I set a username and password to login to my Admin and activate these login details...? I can not find it in my OSCommerce documentation or anywhere on this forum or website.
kgt Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Your host should have a control panel that allows you to do this. Look for something like "Password Protect Directories." Contributions Discount Coupon Codes Donations

Are you saying that there is no built in login screen for admin with osCommerce and that it solely relies on server side protects?

I tried searching, however the search feature for this forum isn't really that robust. Why does it not have an authentication system? Server side passwords are okay for keeping out newbies, however they are definately not a high grade security scheme and leave security problems for admin to deal with. I know of no other software, that is as sensitive as an online store, that relies on server side password protection.
