Image Handling

Probably a dumb question:

When deleting categories and products from the DB, does OSC automatically delete the related image files or do you need to do this manually?

Where are the product images stored anyway. In the database or in the image directory?

Thanks.

Thanks!

Is there any feature or utility that lets you delete unused images that don't have paths?

Sorry about hijacking your thread Dave, but I have a question somewhat along the same lines.

When I attach an image to a product I am taken to my computer for the product image. This requires me to download all these images (right now over 4500) to my computer and then upload each to the correct product. My vendor, in the tab delimited file lists each image on its own site (http://vendor.com/images/image.jpg). Does anyone know why we can't just upload this address and have oscommerce pick up the image?

Thanks

This is probably along the same lines as well but I was wondering if there was a .PHP file somewhere where we can specifically define where images will be stored and uploaded to.

For example, instead of storing everything under /shop/images/ directory, I was wondering if I could get OSC to recognize that a new subdirectory exists (i.e. /shop/images/category/) and that I want to start using this subdirectory moving forward.

Thanks,

Arnold
