Shana Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Bluehost Support recommeded this shopping cart, but I'm a novice. My site is live (www.sweetslings.net) but I need a shopping cart. I considered just using paypals, but since I plan on having a large number of items they said this would be a better fit. I installed OSCommerce through bluehost control panel but I get "Server Requirement Error: register_globals is disabled in your PHP configuration. This can be enabled in your php.ini configuration file or in the .htaccess file in your catalog directory." I looked through the OSC files on my ftp, but I'm not seeing where to find either of these. Mind you I'm NOT a coder (I know how to scratch my nose in html, that's about it!). The screenshots of OSC look manageable, but am I going to get knee deep here and lost? Thanks for the advice!

Initial set up it usually easy, though snags can occur. I doubt the support will turn on registered_globals for you, but you could always ask. If they say no, then you can out your own php.ini in your root folder and the system will read that locally overriding the main servers php.ini My Contributions Henry Smith
Shana Posted March 21, 2006 Author Posted March 21, 2006 BH specifically states they do not offer support only install and links to this forum. I did find the catalog folder and located the htaccess file. at the bottom I found #<IfModule mod_php4.c> # php_value session.use_trans_sid 0 # php_value register_globals 1 #</IfModule> This looks like what the error was talking about? But how do I enable it?
