Guest Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Sorry if this has been asked before, but I have not found it. Does anyone know how a customer can have their login user name (e-mail address) "remembered" when they go to log in. So when they start to type it in, it appears in a drop down box. It may also be handy to have their password remembered, but give the option of doing so. Quote

Go to -> preferences, ->privacy ->passwords in firefox and probably something similar in explorer for your own settings. I use contrib 2302 myself to have a login infobox in the right column of an osc shop, but that's beyond your question I believe. good luck edit: or what about contrib 338? Thank you both for replying. contrib 2302 Login Box with members name is not quite what I was after. I have previously tried contrib 338 Autologin, but could not get it to work as expected, so it is disabled. What I am after is independent of browser settings. Autocomplete in IE6 (without having remember passwords set) does not work for all sites. I have it set in IE6, and it just does not work on the login page, but it works on other (non OSC) sites. It is dangerous to have the remember passwords option set anyway, because then the password is stored on your computer (unencrypted I believe). I was hoping for something else so that I would not have to type in my own email address whenever I am testing. It annoys me, so I guess it annoys customers. Quote

Guest Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Thanks to those that replied. There seems to be some sort of javascript that can set cookies to do the job, but since I am ignorant of js and php, I will have to let it go through to the keeper. Quote
