rott Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 I was looking at the Multi-sites contrib to see if it would do what I need, and it's close, but not quite. Imagine a photographer's site, where he may wish to display portfolio photographs, available for sale to anyone. No problem. But then he has clients who should only be able to view photos from their events. This would require either 1) a private category (so the username would be linked to that category, and thus only that user may view products there) or 2) a private catalog (this is what I though multi-store would do for me, but it's for two sites with same catalog and different skins. This seems like a common scenario, though I guess most photographers use some service for this, rather than set up their own site. Any ideas? Suggestions? It gets even more fun when you have a common userid/pw that is sent to a bride for distribution to her family and friends. That common username should only have "view" access. As soon as someone tries to add to cart, or wishes to purchase something, they would then need a unique username/pw so as to be able to save and retrieve carts. whew. I haven't found anything in osCommerce or any other commerce app that can do this. Help? (I don't want to roll my own. :)
