sarnold Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 I am currently thinking about a site redesign because my site is kind of a mess on the backend. Too many people have worked on it and it's time consuming for my webmaster. I get alot of shopping cart errors, the linking program has problems etc. etc. We're looking at oscommerce. Here is my question. Currently, I have pretty good rankings with google, msn and yahoo. How do we redesign without losing those rankings? We'll be going from pages with names like specials.php or accessories.html to .default.php?cPath=25_48. I am not a technology person so please keep it simple. I would appreciate any suggestions and input.
Guest Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 there're contributions like the ultimate seo urls that will convert the php extensions to html. You could modify them to use the existing categories and product names. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,2823
