gfl2 Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Im sure you guys are sick of me, but I cant help it. Im finding the way this store is set up to rather painful. I have message boards and galleries that are way more simple to use compared to this set up and after two weeks of just trying to get things right, Im feeling like I should have just used my own plain old html and paypal instead of this set up. I have my store set up exactly how I want it, but one problem is...I used the basic desing pack contrib...awesome and worked flawlessly....the 3 images...not the greatest, because my pop ups are shrunk and I cant seem to fix them, not bothering too tired of messing with it. Now I am baffled trying to figure out this download thing... I have downloadable products only, no shipping...I already have half of the products on my site from previous venues and want to be able to link to them but Im not seeing anyway to do that in the product area.....do I have to move all my zips into the download file folder? and...they are already named something else, does that name have to match the name of the actual product and cant be named something else??? That is definately a feature that should be offered in the main package...being able to offlink downloads or what ever....Im spending more time jumping through hoops trying to set my store up when I could be selling things. So could someone please advise on this matter on exactly how to go about doing this? I've set up the attributes so that the only option is download....but how do you link to them???
wer Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 The download can be named anything, as far as I know it needs to be in the download folder In product attributes just put the file name, no link or anything else just type in filename.zip Make sure you chmod the pub folder 777 and download folder I think is 744 You might want to read my post below on large file downloads if you have problems with zip file size Good luck
