ashlyn Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 I don't know if this is an OC or email problem, but I thought I would ask here anyway, to see if it's happening to anyone else. A percentage of our order emails are not being recieved at our end, and that means we are missing the middle digits of credit card numbers, and have to phone the customer to get the info. This doesn't happen every time, but it happens enough to be a problem. Is anyone else having this happen? Does anyone know what might be causing it? For help, we are using OC 2.1 and having our mail redirected to an aol account. Many thanks.. ------------------------------------------------------- I used to be insane, but now I'm just nuts ;)
EthosPaul Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Your domain needs to have reverse pointers setup in order for AOL to receive email. Depending on your hosts setup, the server may be sending the mail as [email protected], etc and AOL may not like it. If on a shared IP it could be on spam list, one just never knows with AOL. For a quick fix, use a comcast or yahoo account although Yahoo may screen it as well as bulk spam. Check your spam account on AOL. And eventually....change to an authorize or other live payment system. We did the credit card manual thing for awhile and it quickly became old. Now, when a customer orders, we get paid automatically - its much, much nicer. There is nothing worse than having to call a customer and ask for the credit card info over again....been there. :> Paul ------------
