aapinen Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 I founf PHPBB 2.0.8a implementation -packet from the contribiton section, but I guess this is a bit old version? And might dangerous to use? How can I integrate a new phpBB to osc (dont have to be perfect, but I mean that phpBB would open to to "osc screen")?
EthosPaul Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Careful with phpbb. Must use the most current version and subscribe to the email notifiations list or other security related websites. Many php files can and are often exploited, keeping the most current version in place is goal number one... Otherwise, you are just asking for someone else to run your website and allt the customer data with it. Other than that, Phpbb is a good forum software if setup correctly. Some people like Invisionboard and there are others. Are you looking to install it so that a customer clicks a link, say "Messageboard" and it opens the messageboard on the same page? aapinen Posted April 17, 2006 Author Posted April 17, 2006 Yes, that's excatly what I ment. Now I have a PHPbb, but it goes to the new page (but I have desinged its layout very similar to my osCommerce so it doestn look awfull), but it would be nice if that forum would open in the same page). Is it possible or is there too much risk in security?
aapinen Posted April 17, 2006 Author Posted April 17, 2006 Of course the forum doesn't have to be phpbb. I just like it layout. What do you think is the safest forum-software?
