Guest Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Hi, Could someone help me with my osc store. I have a fairly busy site at the moment. This is what is happening: 1. One person creates an account, places an order and completes the transaction. 2. The next customer comes along and does the same, but on this occasion his account somehow shows the first persons details and this second persons account dissapears. When you look at the orders in admin, order number 1 shows the correct details as below: Customer : customer 1 ------ Shipping Address: customer 1 ------ Billing Address: customer 1 Order Number 2 shows this which is incorrect: Customer : customer 1 ------- Shipping Address: customer 2 ------- Billing Address: customer 2 I know that both orders are from differnt people as when i see there orders in supertracker they show different IP addresses and also when i get the payment they are both from different people. Has anybody come across a problem like this. My website is: www.deviltronics.com
rabbitseffort Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 I have read that this may be caused by your host server possibly--maybe call them and ask "I must admit that I personally measure success in terms of the contributions an individual makes to her or his fellow human beings." ---Margaret Mead--- "The answer is never the answer. What's really interesting is the mystery. If you seek the mystery instead of the answer, you'll always be seeking. I've never seen anybody really find the answer -- they think they have, so they stop thinking. But the job is to seek mystery, evoke mystery, plant a garden in which strange plants grow and mysteries bloom. The need for mystery is greater than the need for an answer. --Ken Kesey"
♥Vger Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 In your osCommerce admin panel, under Configuration --> cache, set Use Cache to false. Under Configuration --> Sessions set Prevent Spider Sessions to True, and then go to Contribution and look for the spiders.txt contribution - this will update your spiders.txt file with the latest list of known spiders. These people are probably coming to your site via a link on a Search page, and that link has a session id - so they both end up using the same session id. The measures I have suggested will cure the problem in time - but not immediately. Vger
rabbitseffort Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 maybe the purchase without account contrib would help also? Guest Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 rabbitseffort: I already have this installed. I doubt this is a host problem. Vger: all those settings you send are already like that. Not sure what you mean by: and then go to Contribution and look for the spiders.txt contribution - this will update your spiders.txt file with the latest list of known spiders. Does recreate session need to be true, it is currently false.
Guest Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Like Vger says this problem is when somebody comes from a search engine, i am currently using google adwords and when this is active the problem occurs. What is the recreate session in admin, and would this be causing my problem.
