smadadi Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Hello, We are about to do our first OS Commerce implementation. It will be an online catalogue of automotive performance parts. The caveat is that product / categories need to be controlled from an office application we have developed for the client. So instead of creating products/categories in the OS Commerce Admin area, they would instead upload parts from the existing database and categories would be assigned in this manner as well. We planned on doing this by determining what databases the OS Commerce Admin pages would write do when adding products/categories and having a PHP script that would handle a request from our app with the same information then manipulate the database as if it were added from OS Commerce. We also plan on adding the ability to filter product listings for one or more criteria. I.e., we want to only show parts that are compatible with a car make/model/year that a user selected. Has anyone had any experiences modifying OS Commerce in this fashion? Any thoughts? ideas? Anything would be appreciated. Thanks, Salar Madadi - Latest Developments Inc.
