yourguide Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Ok I have a new installation setup, and everything is working, I am not getting any errors. BUT (Thats a big but :) ) The store is not sending email confirmations to new customers, and when I place an order I am also not getting any email notifications. However if I go to the "Customers" section in Admin I can send an email message to customers with the form. Anyone have any ideas for me?? P.S. This is on a server hosted with hostdepartment.com and the control panel automagically installed the oscommerce script for me... though I did go through by hand and verify all the CHMOD settings and it was wrong a couple of times... perhaps there is another CHMOD I need to do?? Thanks. P.P.S. The store configuration is set to send emails... so its not that either.
Guest Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 In admin/configure, is the E-mail From, set up correctly, Ralph

It is not sending out the order confirmation emails. I am getting very frustrated with this. I don't know what to do about this anymore. I've tried everything. Can someone please help get this fixed already. Maryann Overmere Mystical Unicorn
speed777 Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Make certain that the cookie domain and path your config files are set correctly. As a test, turn off cookies in your admin panel and run a test transaction, if it runs fine then the problem is in your catalog/includes/configure file.

exohordon Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 SkullSplitter, what errors were inside your control panel? Care to enlighten? My cookie domain is defined as such : ('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'mydomain.com'); where my domain is the name of my registered domain.
SkullSplitter Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 i have to set sendmail for *nix systems ...
exohordon Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 I don't really get what you mean. Could you explain a bit more detailed? I am totally new to oscommerce. Thanks for the help. I am getting desperate
exohordon Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Oh ok I get what your saying. I tried both smtp and sendmail but nothing works. I created some dummy accounts with email address as [email protected] mydomain refers to the domain I am registered under. Only if the email belongs under my domain then the mails get sent out. Customers using other emails do not get confirmation mails or order mails. However, customers can send me email via contact_us.php I really don't know what's wrong. Please help
