mattbrand Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Hey folks, I have a new OS Commerce setup. The address of the store is under /catalog/, as I think a lot of stores are. The question is, what do you put in the root directory of the web site? For example, if my site is www.xyz.com, and the store is at www.xyz.com/catalog/, what kind of page do you put at www.xyz.com for an index? Or should I just change my configuration so that the store is located at www.xyz.com? Thanks, Matt
rabbitseffort Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 well, you could have an intro html page that matches the rest of the site with a link to the catalog--or put a redirect in so that if someone types in the root address then it will go to the catalog automatically. Or move the files to the root by changing config files "I must admit that I personally measure success in terms of the contributions an individual makes to her or his fellow human beings." ---Margaret Mead--- "The answer is never the answer. What's really interesting is the mystery. If you seek the mystery instead of the answer, you'll always be seeking. I've never seen anybody really find the answer -- they think they have, so they stop thinking. But the job is to seek mystery, evoke mystery, plant a garden in which strange plants grow and mysteries bloom. The need for mystery is greater than the need for an answer. --Ken Kesey"

tucker206 Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 OK, that makes sense. Thanks. Copy your includes folder & index.php to your root. Not the admin files...... Regards Steve...
