♥toyicebear Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 I have clients reporting back a rate ranging from 40-75% closing rate between sign-ups and completed purchases..... This has me concerned, i would consider that it should be more uniform and also a bit higher..... So in the interest of shedding some light on this subject i am opening this tread with some questions... 1. What is the average closing rate.... what is it at your site? 2. Have you done any changes which has made a change in your closing rate? if so please outline them.... 3. Anything you deem important in regards to this subject..... If we all share info and do some comparing of results , we might come up with some tips and tricks to improve sales for all!!!!! So please chime in your expiriences and opinions..... Basics for osC 2.2 Design - Basics for Design V2.3+ - Seo & Sef Url's - Meta Tags for Your osC Shop - Steps to prevent Fraud... - MS3 and Team News... - SEO, Meta Tags, SEF Urls and osCommerce - Commercial Support Inquiries - OSC 2.3+ How To To see what more i can do for you check out my profile [click here]

♥toyicebear Posted March 18, 2006 Author Posted March 18, 2006 Does the site require that the customer create an account to view shipping charges? Have you investigated smoothing out and shortening the checkout process? Not site..sites.... Shipping charges are available prior to checkout on most of the sites..... (This did help improve the ratio of sign-up vs completed purchases) The checkout has been shortened on all........ (This did just give a minor improvment) Most also have a checkout without creating account feature..... (This did increase the number of sign-ups but did reduce the sign-up vs completed purchases ratio) One of the places where we have seen some effects is in regards to payment metodes available, anyone have any more feedback on what to accept in addition to CC payment?
