vdo Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 anyone used Yahoo web hostinig with osCommerce's SSL option, yahoo seems to make u use their /ssl directory, how do you go around that? i am not too familiar with it, any suggestion recommendations would help, like how to configure it so only the checkout part and registering uses SSL.. tahnks!
♥Vger Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 If they use the two-folder system, with a separate 'ssl' folder in which all https pages must go then the simplest thing is to drop a copy of your entire store into that folder. Later, when you are sure it is working okay, you can remove the 'admin' folder from the http docs folder - so that it's only accessible via https. Vger
vdo Posted March 17, 2006 Author Posted March 17, 2006 so lets say u set it up where u have pages unsecure for viewing and then u want SSL for checkout, creating accounts etc... if u drop teh whole store in SSL then the whole thing will be in SSL.... how do u select piece of it also, is htere a tool to change the paths of scripts? lets say i want to hide my admin page to /foo, where can they change all the paths? thanks! pdfair Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 I have the same question. I am still searching the forum for my answer, but some input would be greatly appreciated. I am using Yahoo also and am at the point of needing to set my security and get site to work properly. I read somewhere where naming the .ht file to a ht.txt will work, but how does it work? How do you refer only the site checkout to the ssl folder? Thanks for all the support. This forum has been a big help so far.
AlanR Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Yahoo ssl is very problematic. Here's a post which may help: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?s=&...ndpost&p=745350 Local: Mac OS X 10.5.8 - Apache 2.2/php 5.3.0/MySQL 5.4.10 • Web Servers: Linux Tools: BBEdit, Coda, Versions (Subversion), Sequel Pro (db management)
pdfair Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Thanks for the info AlanR. I know one thing for sure <<<Yahoo is Crap>>> to work with. Will keep trying for now. If anyone knows of a good web host please PM me. Thanks
