Images Distorted

My images are screenshots that have been reduced to 100x100 or a little smaller.

The reduced image is acceptable until I import it into the products page of osCommerce.

When viewed on my products page it is very distorted.

What can be done to improve image.

Thank you in advance,

brad

In your admin panel, go to Configuration > Images. You will need to make your image ratio size match the Small Image Width x Small Image Height ratio. You can either change the configure settings to match the ratios of the images you have already created, or resize your images to match the existing ratio.

I had made those adjustments and even left the width "blank" since the images vary.

Also how can I get the "click here to enlarge" to work. It currently give the same image size just like the demo. Do I have to direct it to a html page?

thanks,

Brad

The click to enlarge give you the actual image size so if you want that to be larger you need to use a larger image.

The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing.

Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems?

There are many very useful osC Contributions

Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here

I'm not sure what your resizing issue is...

You have large images that have text one them. When you resize images with text to thumbnail size, the text becomes unreadable. It's as simple as that, and happens universally. It has to do with the fact that the text is not actually text but pixels, and no different from any other part of the image. When you try to reduce an image size, you will lose pixels. Since text is usually composed of only a few pixels, the loss of pixels will render it progressively unreadable. There might be a few programs out there that have algorithms to keep text legible when you resize an image from what you have to a thumbnail, but I assure you there's no browser that will do it.

If you want your text in those images to be readable, you will need to create separate thumbnails manually and add the text in a small font size in Photoshop or whatever your imaging program is.
