step 1 and I fail

I antered catalog/install/ and I gog a fatal error: register_globals was turned off (php5) I turned it on (is it safe... probably I should only do this voor de oscommerce sites... or not? ) but still the same fatal error... that's strange isn't it... what to do?

After you turn on Register Globals in php.ini you have to reboot for it to take effect.
