SandTiger Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Hi I?m wondering if anyone could kindly answer a few questions I have - I?ve been playing with non-SSl enabled installs of OSC for a month and now want to do a SSL install which I would like to get right? First off, the world of SSL, Merchant Accounts and Payment Gateways is pretty new to me ? If I interface with what I understand are known as Third Party Processing Services such as WorldPay or 2Checkout then would I need to bother with SSL ? I have been told that I would not as these companies would deal with the secure server aspect of a site but I would like to double check that. If I am looking at SSL then it will be on Plesk. I?ve done a fair bit of googling and read posts about installing duel sites in httpdocs & also httpsdocs along with various hacks for the config.php file etc? etc? What I?m wondering is there a comprehensive tutorial around that covers an OSC install with ssl and where to put what files and what files should be given protection? Or do I just upload to httpdocs in the normal way with a normal install and enable SSL and leave OSC to put the right files in the right areas. Sorry if this comes across as a bit of a numpty post and this has been covered to death previously but I want to try and get a proper understanding of an OSC/SSL install before I purchase a Certificate and wasn?t able to search out the full answers  Thanks for any answers and/or pointers that you may have.
