ant36 Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 I use os commerce on one of my sites but it was already pre-installed and I'm pretty familiar with the basics now, however,I wanted to use it on a site which I've built myself with my own custom templates colours etc,but when I install it using fantastico(supplied by hosting),it installs as a completely seperate setup with it's own url. Is it possible to integrate oscommerce with my own site or do I have to look for an alternative,I only want to use paypal, but I like the ease of use oscommerce gives me as well as other features. thank you
SandTiger Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 No idea about Fantastico mate - But I did find a tutorial here http://siteground.com/tutorials/oscommerce...nstallation.htm which *may* help. I've had no problems at all installing via FTP. Hope the tutorial is of use :) Davey B
ant36 Posted March 15, 2006 Author Posted March 15, 2006 Thanks for the great tutorial but it doesn't help with my wuestion. :(
bobg7 Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 In my opinion, stay away from the hosts version of osCommerce, who knows how out of date it is or if they have messed with any of the code. Just download a clean copy from here, unzip it, upload it to your webspace where you want it, install it and make the changes you want to do. Installed Contributions: CCGV, Close Popup, Dynamic Meta Tags, Easy Populate, Froogle Data Feeder, Google Position, Infobox Header Entire Row, Live Support for OSC, PayPal Seal with CC images, Report_m Sales, Shop by Price Revised, SQL Updater, Who's Online Enhancement, Footer, GNA EP Assistant and still going.
