Wierd problem with order update email

<_< This is a bit long due to the explanation necessary:

So today for a reason unknown to me in my shop when I update order status for customers the only thing they are getting in the email is my logo that is part of the email sent when they make a purchase and their name--no message from me and it doesnt tell them anything at all. It is annoying to them and me to say the least--I have tried to figure it out but cant---the only thing I have recently changed was adding a logo to the email that is sent after a purchase which works fine and I changed newsletter.php to enable html. The send email function works just fine and the message goes thru but not from the order update section?????

also one wierd thing is that in the test purchase I made to test things out I notice in the to: field of the email it is being sent as this:

"<img src="http://www.mysite.com/catalog/images/logo1.jpg">CUSTOMERS NAME" <[email protected]>

I dont understand this

someone please help me to sort this one out! I appreciate any help given

well--I have had more looks at my files and still cant see the issue--I know that every email function in the shop works and sends properly except the update emails . I can use the email function under tools all good and dandy--and the order details after a purchase is made is fine--but still the update emails are like I stated above--someone have a thought please?

well--I replaced the orders file with a stock one and it is ok now--the issue was me including my logo in the emails maybe someone can show me how to include the logo but without messing up the update emails? these were the lines screwing it up:

$email = '<img src="http://www.MYSITE.com/catalog/images/logo1.jpg">' . "\n" . EMAIL_SEPARATOR . "\n" . EMAIL_TEXT_ORDER_NUMBER . ' ' . $oID . "\n" . EMAIL_TEXT_INVOICE_URL . "\n\n" . $notify_comments . sprintf(EMAIL_TEXT_STATUS_UPDATE, $orders_status_array[$status]);

tep_mail($email = '<img src="http://www.MYSITE.com/catalog/images/logo1.jpg">' . $check_status['customers_name'], $check_status['customers_email_address'], EMAIL_TEXT_SUBJECT, $email, STORE_OWNER, STORE_OWNER_EMAIL_ADDRESS);
